... 1hr Into BackStrap Season... Coditions were perfect... Slightly up wind from me in nice clearing out from the morning fog she stepped out head first to look and flick her toung around checking for sings of danger... as she grew braver she walked clear enough out of the fog... pacement of arrow was perfect and there she fell 44yds away... 120lbs of meat so soft you could eat it with a spoon... more yet to be harvested. Hey Salty, any ETA on that 3 show you taped getting processed? No rush though. I know you'll get to it eventually. I really would like to hear it again to see if it was just my mood that night which may have skewed my enjoyment of that show. If we can afford it we are thinking about going to see them in Fla. next month. We really like the Suwannee Music Park. Saw Creek play there a few years ago.

Great time last night. The sound from the speakers on the stage sounded awesome. I did not care for the setlist, all around...but it was played very weel and with heart & soul and excitement. John Rider seems to have missed playing in his bad - he was way enthused! Did UR the Olny One chrus like 10 times. I saw at least 3 busts by Greenfield's finest. I am told that one of them was beaten in the face several time.

it was just on of those nites- eerie ground fog beneath a swollen moon, summer refusing to give way for just one more evening, and the band? The band did some things tonight that left many a reveler cross-eyed and painless. too many highlights to mention at the moment, but suffice it to say X pushed his licks harder than ever...like he was on a mission to elevate HIS band the way he's been doing it for others lately...stunning, jaw-dropping night...

Sustainable hemp technical fabrics have been used as the primary constituent in the high quality “A” class composite body panels and spoiler. The renewable hemp has exceptional material properties that make for a very strong fibre. Historically hemp has been used in the manufacture of rope, illustrating the great strength of the material. The hemp fibres have also been used in the manufacture of the lightweight Lotus designed seats. An additional benefit of using hemp is that it is a natural resource that requires relatively low energy to manufacture and absorbs CO2 whilst growing as a plant through natural photosynthesis. This hemp material is used with a polyester resin to form a hybrid composite, however it is hoped that a fully recyclable composite resin will be viable in the short-term future.

Becareful when booking lodging at Sunday River. The two hotels, Grand Summit and Jordan Grand ($119 with tax), are NOT within walking distance to where the band plays. The best place to stay is the Cascade Condo unit. This actually overlooks where the band place (depending on what side you are on, you can watch them from your balcony). I just booked a studio room there for $105 with tax (one queen murphy bed). A 1 bedroom room there is about $136 with tax. If the Cascade fills up, your next closest would be the Sunrise Condo unit.

I really wanna be there for that weekend. Hope to bring my 5 year old to see his first Creek Show. Seeing hes taking a real interest in music now constantly trying to get involved when I play. and he is more likely to not run off on me during the show.. I Hope ?

embarrassingly enough... I've been thru the hood flyin up routine before....its pretty freaky...I currently don't drive on any roads that are faster than 35 mph... so barring a freak wind gust I should be OK.. its a heavy ass hood... but the highway is another story!! The bad part is it usually smashes yer windshield too... I'm gonna try and tie er down with a cord from the underside to the frame of the Jeep LOL....

cfah my first car was a 1970 ford ltd..got it in nyc..the battery had been stolen so many times that they broke the latch that locks the hood down so i had it held down with a metal chain & lock..welp the one time i let the mechanic change my oil was the one time he didn't lock the chain..wowsah that was a fun ride..the hood slammed up and buckled under the top so i couldn't even see out between the gap..yikes trying to get to the side of the road at rush hour in 5 lanes of traffic was scary to say the least!

i don't know boris, you may have exceeded the amount to keep an old car running as opposed to buying a new one, speaking of which, the saturn has passed 100,000, i was looking so forward to all the 9's turning to zeros and that left digit going to 1, but alas, i was stoned and missed it! so saturns are pretty much throw away cars, they don't last much past 100,000, the goal is get it to 111,111 then buy a car

For anyone who'll be at Wormtown tonight (and to answer the question posted yesterday) Mark Mercier will be playing at Vernville at 8:00 with the Bruce Mandaro Band, which is really the Grievous Angels. This band was put together for the “What About Bob” benefit a few weeks ago and features Jim Walsh and Tom Doherty from Catfish Jam, Jeff Burch from OSB, and Christine Andrews on vocals and myself. We’ll be playing a bunch of Gram Parsons songs that featured Emmy Lou Harris, a bunch of alt country (whatever that means) stuff and a few originals.

It's Let It Go Week, Scorpio -- also known as Just Drop It Week. This is a fertile moment in your astrological cycle, a time when you'll be rewarded with a creative influx if you surrender your tight grip, give up your obsessive hold, and stop clinging to your hardened expectations. So I urge you to summon your most brazen vigor and get yourself as completely unstuck as you dare. And please keep in mind that this should be relaxing fun, not a worrisome ordeal.

I think the "420" after show party out on Nantucket?? You know the one where DeadGuy nails "Rainbow", or was it WildSide??? Hmmmm will have to pull that one out.

Sunday is Ryan Montbleau. We will be camping in our usual spot so stop by and say hello. Easiest way to tell ya where were at is to go to Family Camping and all the way to the left. Go into the woods and the first site you hit is us. Or down the path across from the pool and look on the right when you are adjacent to Family Camping. Can't wait to see ya freaks. Hm. Why not take two speakers, put them back to back, face one down, one toward the ceiling, and wire them out of phase. Then resulting sound would have all kinds of issues: Doppler shift, phase cancellation, comb filtering. Sort of what a ceiling hears if it were deaf. I tried to get Costa to wear a headphone hat like this to do monitors one night, hoping to pick up subliminal sound cues from the band members. He declined. Another possibility lost in the fog.

Previous bands always have an influence on newer bands. Musicians grow up liking certaain music and at first try to play their influences music before developing their own identity. It's the way it is. If I started playing today my goal would be to take Minglewood and Corrina to the next level

You guys are classic..... I've seen my share of Phish and Creek shows and am pretty familiar with both X's & Trey's sound. I went and saw MGB (aka... Mike's Creek) last month in Buffalo. During the very first tune of the night, one of the first things I noticed was that X was putting out some very "Trey sounding riffs/solos". Not overpowering by any means but enough that I noticed it. During the same tune he also had that classic "X sound" which I could have heard if I was deaf. He plays the same kind of guitar as Trey so at times there will be a similar sound...... especially if he is playing in Mike's band which is heavily "Phish influenced". If he is playing with Creek the his sound will most likely be the "Classic X" sound that we are all used to. But to say that all those people are crazy to say that he was "sounding like Trey" is stupid especially considering he was playing with Mike Gordon (who is pretty much known for being Trey's bassist and bandmate) AND using a similar guitar. Also, Phish is a great band. They are like the Grateful Dead........ if I have to explain it to you, you wouldn't understand it anyway.

Maybe to keep things civil, there should be guidelines on here like at family gatherings and bars: no discussion of politics, religion...or comparing Phish and Creek

PZ,somebody with alot of money to waste.it's just not a marketable or cash positive place to have a club. nevermind the gauntlet of cops one would see after having a few while enjoying a show. i would tend to think that somebody already opened it as a music venue,no?

Doug Irwin sold 2 of Jerry's guitars at an auction after a compromise in a lawsuit he had against Grateful Dead Productions. Jerry had left them to Doug in his will but GD claimed the band owned them. They settled on giving Doug 2 of the guitars. "Tiger -- a guitar Garcia played for 11 years -- went for $850,000. The other guitar, called Wolf, sold for $700,000. The buyer's commission pushed the price paid for Tiger to $957,500 and the price of Wolf to $789,500."

you should see how they pack the house at the historical society next door to the Stone Church.the night I was there, they held a meeting to a capacity crowd. blue-hairs and silver-backs as far as the eye could see.

that's too bad about the Stone Church. Good people there. Great building, terrible location to survive as a live music venue. Had a hell of a time there on July 28th. Probably the first non jam-band show there in a long time.

Newmarket, NH’s famed Stone Church Music Club will host its final concert this evening. The 192-person club, which has served as live music incubator since the 1960s, began its life as a Unitarian Universalist meeting house and was later used as a Catholic church. The room has been the epicenter of New Hampshire’s jamband scene, as the venue’s Terrapin Station mural regularly reminds visitors. Phish, Bonnie Raitt, Parliament, Bela Fleck, Joan Osborne, John Scofield, Richie Havens, Hot Tuna, David Grisman Quintet, Al Kooper, Bill Frisell, Buddy Guy, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Melissa Ferrick are just a handful of the acts who have made the room their own over the years. Over the past decade, The Stone Church has also served as something of a launching pad for New England’s burgeoning jam and jazz/funk scenes, hosting pivotal performances by groups like Soulive, Percy Hill, Assembly of Dust, The Slip, Nate Wilson Group, Grace Potter, Ryan Montbleau Band and The Brew, among many others. Saxophonist Sam Kininger, who has played the Stone Church countless times with different ensembles, will close the venue tonight with his own band. On Friday the building will go up for auction.

Ahhh Armin im 37 going on 38 and Sk is older then dirt and we both love Warren, so whats your point now? Poor kids we are not! :) To each is own, but i do agree about Trey, Phish is for the poor suckers that didnt catch the dead, period. The reunion is not far off, i am sure of that. Just when the dead is considering a tour, think that isnt in the plan to piggy back? Same as it ever was!

It's OK, I just thought it was funny, since as someone mentioned before, X is obviously the influence....I feel kinda bad for the kids out there today..it's Warren this, and Trey that..even whats his face, the bald guy with the headband from the zen 'tricksters' is considered a keyboard demigod to a lot of these poor, undernourished kids...

if someone on the west coast doesn't know Creek and said X sounds like Trey or played some Treyish licks, whats the big deal? If they liked him does it matter? It's that writers way of describing what he saw and heard at the show. It's all good

It's so silly to say that x sounds like Trey... stupid, actually... what was Trey doing when x joined Max Creek in 1971? If by any chance there is a similarity in their playing styles, it's because Trey sounds like x - and since Phish learned how to do it's thing largely from Creek, that's quite possible :)

I'll say this right here and now...x would be a perfect guitarist for the upcoming dead tours next year. I think deadheads are finally getting the message that there is no Garcia replacement -- so enjoy what new music is being played.

I really don't know what people are hearing...x sounds nothing like Trey, doesn't play like him, his guitar tone doesn't sound like Trey...and as far as Trey being Zappa-like, sorry but that's laughable... not even Dweezil can play Zappa...Dweezil knows that I know that he knows that he can't play his father's music, so Zappa plays Zappa is more of a tribute. Frank Zappa, who insisted he was not a virtuoso, nonetheless is one of those rare guitar players whose music cannot be duplicated.
