National partyline...means that Dems and Reps are just social engineering at best , corporate interests vying at worst. Representing who?...Pepsi Co was a key reason for the Bay of Pigs event. What civilians had the power to stop that?..Kennedy was killed by a spirit of freedom that saw him as a means to an end ..do we learn nothing from history lessons.. .folks from the 50's and 60s saw the transparency in govt and then the CIA brought in coke and H and killed the credibility of those lettered and disenfranchised who spoke up ,and in creating other social problem that needed attention , broke the unity and power of the numbers by splintering the resources needed to address all those new problems. Check out this interview with Kantner and Gans , for one perception of the time from 'our side'-- http://www.levity.com/gans/kantner.860602.html.... At least as a trade off there were 'some' civil liberties acquired or at least feigned, lest there be real violent revolution here. The welfare system was a great way to placate the poor uneducated and disgruntled. Todays generations have psychological and bio-nuerological technology that the govt has that they have to fight against.....This is kinda like talking about elevating one religion-philosophy over another , yet they both support politicians that support warfare. Yet they're supposed to represent who?....I had homemade pizza with eggplant from the garden this weekend, it was great!....On a similar path , if Gore had made office, his family is oil as well, and the talk from him about global warming would NEVER have happened. He is social spin , credibility to the 'office' , to control the freethinking , (i.e. , "get us involved" ). It's an open discussion, right? the folks who died in 'Nam died for Heroin and so a certain church could get into the country and convert, and hey, remove that godless communism.. two of the larger components anyways, and take out the monks while we're at it...makes me sick!

that's right, i don't take a political stand cuz i don't really care, i'm from the garcia school of politics, voting for the lesser of 2 evils is still a vote for evil. and didn't obama just say he's going to cut taxes? how will he do that and have a national health plan? it's the older people that are a burden on society, i say anyone over 80 we just take out, not violently, make them comfortably numb.

Hi, folks! Well, X asked me to give a review of last night's Mike Gordon Band show at the Fox Theatre, which was nice & tight, but with plenty of room for X to rip it up. However, Gordon sounded very authorative on his 5-string bass, while keyboardist Tom Cleary's playing was both disciplined and aggressive; and the drums and percussion were rock-solid, driving the grooves with assurance. At times, X's Languedoc guitar gets a tone that reminds me of Trey, but the playing is clearly different...no copycatting here! X tune of the night was a R&B-upbeat-flavored workout of Emotional Railroad, with fine harmony vocals by Gordon and Cleary. Show rain 2:08 including encore. It was real good to see X playing music, and here's hoping he gets more of these richly deserved opportunities. Now, X...when is KBM making it to Colorado? X and Gordon...enjoy Mishawaka...you guys will looooove playing that sweet venue. Off to Red Rocks for the AllmansMuleSchwagdogMcGee weekend. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Peas and carrots...

Obama actually wrote his own speech, unlike g.b., who doesn't even know his abc's. Also, mccain has been saying that obama does not have enough experience to be pres, and then picks palin as his vp? mccain prolly will die in office and leave us her, talk about no experience, alaskas population is less than chicagos, and she was the mayor of a town of 7000 before that, plus she has 5 kids, one with special needs, she had to ask what the vp does! oooh shes soooo pollitically savy. with that said, it seems that mccain does not really care about this country, only winning the election, same ole publican bullshit tacticts. oye I'm outta breath. Oh yea, only in america would somebodys middle name make a difference, come on folks, wake up and smell the bullshit, it's deep... by the way we are spending 10 BILLION dollars a month in Iraq, thats alot of samolians, but hartford has to close inner city libraries cause there ain't no money. and all the stuff Stretchy said, go stretchy go....

HA HAAA!!! Sorry Tommy, didn't mean to steal your thunder. That is a really cool story. I love it when that happens. My friend who got hurt was Dean Ween and I'm not sure what the name of the festival was. Ween was playing this festival in london with a bunch of other bands. The festival was attached to the resort the band was staying and it backed up to the back stage area. There was a 10 foot steel fence they closed when the fest was over. So he had to either walk all the way around and through the festival to get back to his hotel or climb the fence. He didn't want to go through the festival and have to deal with all the grogs attacking him. So he climbed the fence. He was wearing cowboy boots and when he jumped from the to of the fence to the ground he thought he shattered both his ankles. He was pretty drunk and the crew helped him back to his room. He thought it wasn't that bad when he 1st went to bed and took his boots off. Then the next morning he woke to piss up and felt a little pain but didn't think it was that bad. Then tried to get out of bed and fell flat on his face. He knew then he had a problem. He couldn't walk...he had to crawl for help. Pretty fucked up huh?

Pickle is absolutely right! Though I think people should be able to talk about this. As long as it's done without venom behind it and doesn't turn into personal attacks. That is where the problem lied 4 years ago. People get their panties all in a bunch and start lashing out at each other. Plus, remember the reason we are all here. It certainly isn't about arguing over Obama's middle name. Who fucking cares? At the end of the day is that really gonna matter? I tell ya...if I were running for president my motto would be "down with bullshit and up with blow jobs".

Ya see, this is why I don't get involved with political discussions on this forum or anywhere. I can tell you this. A good friend of mine shattered his ankle at a festival in london. The nearest hospital was 25 miles outside of town. They have universal health care over there and he told me he used to be for this until he saw how horrible the conditions were. People with severed arms and head trauma waiting in the same room he was in. A room packed with people all fucked up desperately needing medical attention worse than him. Extremely dirty and unsanitary conditions. He waited for 4 hours before they got to him. When they did they were less than nice. Not enough people working. Basically you get what you pay for. It's sad but true. I used to go to this dentist that took my insurance and all I had to pay was the co-pay. I hated this dentist for years but kept going because it was "in network". ALL the dental hygienists were really rough on my mouth and had bad attitudes. The office and the equipment was the same since 1972. I finally got fed up when they fucked up one of my fillings. Found a new dentist "out of network" that is awesome. Great staff, everyone is nice and they do an amazing job. The draw back is I have to pay for everything up front then they will bill my insurance "non-assigned". That means I get a check from the insurance company and they compensate me less than half of what I pay the dentist. This sucks but ya know what...it's worth it. It's my teeth and I want to have them as long as I'm here. So basically you get what you pay for. It's sad but true. There are no easy answers when it comes to this kind of thing. That is only one issue and it is a problem on many levels. I am lucky enough to have dental insurance. Lots of people are not so lucky.

Hey all...lets just remember all the political talk 4 years ago and how it really, really pissed off the owners of this board, you know, the ones that pay for this board. I think it is really stupid to go down that road again. From 4 years ago, we know it is one of the things that could shut this board down, so I just suggest everybody does what they want on 11/4 and leave it off this forum.

Who gives a flying crap what his middle name is. I don't care if his skin color is blue. I only care about what he stands for, and brother, where he's standing, I want to be. he personifies everything good that America can be. He is not some closet Muslim set to destroy our nation or our nation's values. In case nobody's been watching, our nation is halfway to destruction now, the economy is in shambles, we are in huge debt to foreign countries, a lot of our manufacturing base is gone, we are a fat, lazy, nonthinking people who have allowed television to dictate what we feel and what we think. Our nation's values, the ones that we supposedly hold so dear, have already been completely and utterly corrupted by those who profess to pledge allegiance to God and country, and always wear a flag on their lapel. It is these people that have done this damage, and we have let them. It is time for us to wake the fuck up, take some personal responsibility, and vote.

and while I'm on a roll... Republicans are not conservatives, they have long abandoned that role. I don't care for either party, because in the long run it seems that party politics come before people. Be that as it may, here's what has to happen if this country wants to fix itself for once and for all. Universal health care, get the profit out of it. Everyone needs to be taken care of. 85% of our budget needs to stop going towards the military, and towards taking care of everything is busted or broken in this country. the education system is extremely broken, it needs to be fixed and fixed well -- everybody needs to be educated if you want a strong country, not just bullshit by the numbers testing. we need to bring sex education completely in the open and real. We need to legalize most things in order to remove the criminal element and the black market, only then can we start to treat people, the 5% can't control themselves, as a medical/societal issue rather than a judicial one. All nonviolent, no victim people who are in prison should be let out compensated -- we don't need any more new prisons and in fact we can close half of what we have. Prostitution needs to be legalized, again with the sex out in the open. Our puritanical roots have held us back long enough -- remember, the Puritans and others who came over to this country to begin with, were so far to the right that the rest of Europe couldn't take them and kicked them out -- they were the conservative of the conservative, and we have been in chains by their ideals for centuries. We need to stop and reverse the private ownership of public utilities such as water and electricity, they should never be for profit and stripped out of the hands of those who wish to do so. We need to start recognizing the right of every person to be who they are. We need to stop government control. WE NEED COMMON SENSE. There, that's it.

good morning everyone -- oh my gosh politics! oh well -- Hussein is not Barak's middle name, that was something invented by the Republicans (just like the terrorist "fist jab"), please do some research. charisma -- how many of you have actually heard a Obama speak live? I have -- and let me tell you, there was no Teleprompter, he has more charisma than *any* political figure I've heard in my entire life, let alone Presidents... he is sharp, smart, humble, thinks completely on his feet, and very importantly, since he came from humble beginnings, and worked his way up, he knows what it's like to be poor, to be without advantages -- unlike most of the political dynasties or even senators and congressmen who are, and have been, rich, so they have no clue as to how most of us live or feel. I'm only sorry that I have one vote to use for him. I'm going to lay this down right here and now -- anyone who can't see through the Republican machine and all of their dastardly, underhanded and less so, machinations and slanders, and does not see clearly that Obama is one of the best candidates in decades, well, they deserve the government they vote for -- as do all of us. Get off your apathetic ass, and vote. If you want impartiality in the media, unfortunately must go outside of the country, because our media just plan sucks. BBC News is wonderful in this respect. Now, go enjoy this weekend!

At 16:48 GMT today the entire US populous joined together, uniting in a resounding simultaneous chorus of "WHO?"?!??! Credit is justly due to the efforts of the 72 year old presumptive republican presidential Nominee John McCain, as an example of the clear minded and unifying decisions he would execute as Commander in Chief. Anyone happen to catch the quote from Jerry Garcia in the back of the current issue of Rolling Stone? It's in the "From the Vault" section of RS and focuses on the issues of RS from 15 years (Sept. 93') ago where Jerry was on the cover. They quote him as saying (something to the effect of), "It's an incentitive (working out) when you realize that if you don't, you will be dead in two years." Man..... the guy called his own shot. Kinda weird.

http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx/?news=327913>1=28102......READ IT..... They are suing each other for the rights to the band name.....My POINT is I am very confident that the fact is that Brian Jones had the rights to the Stone's name.....IF you read the article it says Densmore sued the others for using the Doors name for a tour....NOW they call themselves "Riders on the storm"...IF Brian Jones lived, they would have to pay him for the name OR RE-name themselves.......Sticky Fingers?, Paint it Black?, Heart of Stone? Or some other dumb name like "riders on the storm" Brian Jones formed and NAMED the Rolling Stones and every rolling stone admits as much....thats why he was murdered by his own band...

..that trust is not necessary when you don't want or need anything. If you are wondering whether you can "trust" someone, look closely at what it is you think you need or want from them. When you need or want nothing, trust is not an issue. And, of course, there is nothing that you do need, from anybody, given Who and What You Are. You are an expression of Divinity Itself, and Divinity is your Source. Thinking that you "need" anything, given that this is so, would be nothing more than a misunderstanding.
