I just saw Primate Fiasco the other night and was pleasantly wowed.. psychedelic dixieland, sorta kinda? Great stuff whatever you'd tag it. Levon Helm is a great idea too.

The daytime slots at CC are poorly attended to say the least. I admit I see very few of the day time bands unless I have a connection with them. But I never saw too many openers at Dead shows either.

Maybe as comedy relief you could have T.O. cry like a pussy at Camp Creek. You can tell the guy is getting ready for his TV/Movie carrier. What a big fucking actor he is! haha Scotty A. The AVN awards, that's too funny. That's the event where Joe Gallant's porn flick, Times Square Smut, won an award. One of the famous oral scenes is shot during a Messina/Octopoet show at the Nuyorican with the band playing in the background, you can see Mark on stage. That was the last time Joe was invited to play in the band. Crazy time indeed.

I say KISS for Camp, as in Keep It Simple Studip!! We are there for MAC CREEK, not bands that cost thousdands upon thousdands to pay. Keep it in the "family", such is Flipper Brett/Dennis, Rev Tor, Eamon, Pete Yipes, Druids, things like that. Personally, I don't feel you need bands starting at 11am on Saturday and Sunday...shit, we are all still asleep from the late night "campfire" music going on. I feel bad for the bands that good $$$ is being paid for to play at 11am to 10-20 people, and I am sure they don't like playing for that few people. KGM i would totally be for because I have a feeling that it wouldn't be about the $$$ for K&G, and they could be a big draw.

Hey sk, Hill Country gets a lot of mixed reviews... for the amount of time you have to wait doesn't always outweigh the meal you get, plus most people over-order which can be costly. (you pay by the lb.) ie: rib bones weigh more than chicken bones... next time try Daisy May's bbq on 11th. Great mac&cheese, and bbq beans. Damn!!! Now I'm hungry. Taper Jones, I'd love to see some of those old shows you have hit the archives. Those are the days (79-80's) when I was hitting the shows hard like most everyone here seems to be now. ahhh well. The Talk has happened. I took an approach which combined elements of the best advice from all of you as well as my "off forum" sounding boards. I think, when it's said and done, our talk was more helpful than harmful, which was my hope. He was pissed that i looked at his private stuff, but understood why i did, and why it's not ok to have pictures of naked 14 yo classmates on his phone, and is clear about the consequences. I want to sincerely apologize for monopolizing the forum bandwidth with this today, but i have to say i'm incredibly grateful for all of your advice... which it turns out is surprisingly representative of views being shared outside the forum. Maxi is back in the saddle again. Starting eating like a champ after the vet visit of coarse. However im stoked he has a clean bill of health. Doc wasnt sure why he had this little spell. If i had a cell phone in high school, some ladies would still be in therapy! The shit we did, and if we taped it, ugly. There are a couple of phones designed for kids that have only a few buttons and no camera or internet. You (the parent) pre-program the needed numbers in the phone and that is who they can call. One is called Tic-Talk and the other firefly. At least with this you can have the safety of being able to reach your child as well as the knowledge that they aren't doing anything crazy with there phone.

Good morning... Well, here goes another non-parent chiming in, but... maybe try to approach it as a "teachable moment"? Initiate a non-judgmental conversation to find out what your child's perspective is, impart your own perspective, and give the child information he/she might not have? The big challenge is to break the news that you looked at the cellphone without bringing down the wall. For that one, I'd say it's OK to stretch the truth a little bit and make up some sort of plausible excuse for yourself... sort of a fib in the interest of a larger truth. Otherwise, the child could just freak out and shut off any chance for productive discussion.

This is a tough situation... No matter what, you have to address it, but the break in trust will be tough, and he might be on the defensive from the start... Try to ask questions, not be accusing... Just let him talk before you get into the consequences... Try thinking of it from his point of view... Ugh, mine is only 5, I'm just worrying about what he's picking up in kindergarten..!!... I really hope it goes well...

cell phones and teens can be trouble. my kids have em of course (13 & 16--he lost his recently and we havent replaced it yet). great for lots of things, emergencies being the most important and rides, etc. but what a great way for a kid to sneak around (never mind the porn). back in the day my friends had to often speak to my mom & dad before they spoke to me..little screeners! im told 75% of internets bandwidth is from PORN. not sure i believe that but its more prevalent than ever. thing with kids and advice is every kid is different and respond in different ways but I wouldnt ignore it. im currently working the spacy kind of parenting, giving my son tons of freedom. every night hes out with friends (driving) another gray hair pops out on my head. hang in there AMS!!!!

Thank you everyone for this awesome advice! ((Spacey)) you've made such a good point. However, this phone is registered under his grandpa's name, and i just cannot imagine the scandal if somehow it came to light that there was what equates to kiddie-porn being sent back and forth under his good name. I don't think my child has the capacity to understand the incredible consequences of these actions at this age. I'm struggling with how to raise awareness of those consequences without destroying the fragile lines of communication between parent and child, without projecting the sense that sexuality is bad or dirty, but also that it is private and not something to be exploited. Thanks again to each of you for the insight.

hey ams...i tend to gravitate toward allowing a child to experience things that they are naturally attracting in thier own time and space, trusting that they will be able to respond and make their own decisions on what is ultimately right for them (knowing that u as a parent love them unconditionally). this is all a part of their maturing process. did u ever look at "inappropriate" things when u were growing up? did that "inappropriate" material warp your fragile mind? (hahaha south park reference) ; b we as parents really can't control our kids (no matter how hard we might attempt to), and when they KNOW that you trust them to make their own decisions and learn from the consequences, they'll gain their own confidence in making "appropriate" choices. it is truly their life, not ours. and children can't be forced to learn anything that they don't experience and choose for themselves. there are new more open paradigms of what "being a parent" really means. this could be the perfect time for you to nurture and strengthen that open, honest, allowing, trust and communication. u'd be amazed at how good that feels for you both!!!! no one likes to be "told and forced" what to do. to allow someone to truly ~be~ themselves, is the most precious gift we can give anyone.

oh and Moe..i'm sure the vet will tell u u need to have Maxi's teeth cleaned..that's relatively new..i've grown up with cats my whole life (44 yrs&one dark day)) hahaha, and never until about 8 years ago did my vets start telling me to get the cats teeth cleaned..the quick and easy way to get rid of plaque on a cats tooth is to first get him really baked..then open his mouth..put ur thumb nail up against sp?? the base by his gum and press and pull..it will pull the plaque right off..unless of course its infected then just have the vet pull the tooth but shop around..my vet charges almost 400 dollah for two teeth to be extracted..another vet a few towns over charges only 150 dollah..keep in mind it's a dangerous operation and not all cats pull thru..good luck dood..CATS RULE DOGS DRULE!

Max for creek and my dads company is Mackson mfg. Any hoo, thank you so much smiles. He is not a big water drinker so it its hard to figure out that one. But he loves the meal. Howdy all, calling all kitty people. Need some help. My 2yr old cat is not eating much at all. This dude loves to eat. Still fairly playful, but not eating like he always does. any two cents. Thanx, he is my boy!

thanks HB... guess my dissertation should be taken w/ a grain of salt then :) 150 biblio entries l8r, three chapters and appendices pretty much done ... just two chapters to go! does anyone really care about recent research? guess i do... maybe it's a time and place thingy.

Hello! I was very interested in the recent Billy show with Scott, and was wondering if any you guys managed to tape it? Billy doesnt have his own website ..yet! just curious, I have seen creek and know the show must have been absoluetely shmoking! this I have to hear! Thanx

on the gym note..thankfully i've never gotten sick from workin' out at the gym..but i always wash me hands before, after, and when i get home..helps that the gym isn't even a 1/2 mile from me house..now for the record..the only place thats totally full of germs is public restroom sinks and doors going out of the restrooms, go figure hahahaha..always pull ur paper towel before u wash ur hands and use a fresh paper towel to open the door to the restroom when u leave..germs, germs, germs..yucky boohiss!!..thou i got me cold from Stretchykins grrrrrrrrrufffff heheheheheheheee..i love him regardless thou :o)

thanks everyone..hope everyone else feels better too..Phunky i will definitely try the garlic..ya think pickled garlic will do the same or should i use fresh??..i've got both
