funny story just thought of... Back in the day, the liquid was like a rainbow rain shower, I convinced my pal Steve (who drove me to Giants Stadium, thank you very much) that if we went in to this particular store and said the code word, EGG, free-bees would be abundant, he walks in, looks this guy in the eye, and sputters EGG. Huh?, the guy asks. EGG. Never seen such a conversation going nowhere yet everywhere. Fun times with rainbows!!

Ed - Kent patched in a number of times back then. I don't think we were using the large Audioarts console yet. If the Wizard's tape is in mono (no panning of keys or drums/perc), it's probably off our old Yamaha mixer. It was a little noisy, but gave a nice tight sound.

Now available at Internet Archive: Sunday December 26, 1982 at Wizard's in Tolland, CT, created from Kent Askin's masters... this has Bob Gosselin on drums AND Amy Fazzano on additional vocals... I think it is a soundboard - there are people near the stage mikes who can be heard between songs, but the sound is very clean. Set 1: (the first song (Dark Hollow) and part of the second (Good Lovin') are missing) ...Good Lovin', You Told Me Baby, Well Alright - I Saw Her Standing There, Gypsy Blue, Scarlet Begonias - Fire on the Mountain - Trippin' in the USA. Set 2: Emerald Eyes - Not Fade Away, Dead Cat, China Cat Sunflower - Space - Rainbow - One More Saturday Night. Go to: http://www.archive.org/details/mc1982-12-26.flac16

the walking distance hotels are the hilton (right at the end of atwells ave) .. the westin is walking distance .. the biltmore, marriot courtyard, basically all the downtown hotels could be considered walking distance. that place stretchy is staying at is on federal hill and is walking distance. probably the only not walking distance ones are the raddison and the regular marriott. but both of those are cheap cab rides

i know some may say 'what about miami in '85?' fair point, but that was a road game for the bears in december. tough to speculate, but marino wouldn't have the passing game he enjoyed at home, and remember also that this was the era of the 'olphins (no "D")...

i dunno...a week 17 matchup in chicago btwn the '85 bears and the '07 pats would be interesting in that the pats would HAVE to have a running game, and they would also HAVE to stop the bears' running game, two tasks that MIGHT not work out in NE's favor...(just sayin...)

the pats teams since they started winning super bowls ranks up there with those great steelers teams and 49ers teams that won a bunch of superbowls, hard to compare different era's, kinda like if joe louis fought ali, that being said, i'd say those steelers teams were the best ever

true, the Pats have more consecutive regular season wins, but Miami also won the superbowl that year(72')...I think NE has to go all the way to be truly undefeated...either way, they are the best team ever imo....

Vermont is good.....miss people from MA and CT, but do love the area up north. Tough trade-off......snowshoeing/snowboarding has been good, saw some great shows.....definitely try and catch Victor Wooten if he comes around Northampton this spring. He was fantastic last year! Had his own bass player, and at one point Mike Gordon got on stage so there were 3 bass players!! Saw some great bluegrass lately, nope to see some more. Hope you're doing well. Still writing? Joy, thou source of light immortal,
Daughter of Elysium!
Touched with fire, to the portal,
Of thy radiant shrine, we come.
Your sweet magic, frees all others,
Held in custom's rigid rings,
All men on earth become brothers,
In the haven of your wings.
Chorus
Be embraced, you millions!
This kiss for the entire world!
Brothers, above the starry canopy
Must a loving Father reside.
Whoever has the great fortune,
To be a friend’s friend,
Whoever wins the love of a lovely woman,
Add his jubilation to ours!
Yes, anyone also who has a soul
To call his own on this earth!
And anyone who never could, should run away
Weeping from this brotherhood!
Chorus
Those who occupy the great circle,
Pay homage to sympathy!
It leads to the stars
Where the unknown is enthroned
Joy, all creatures drink
At the bosoms of nature,
All good, all evil
Follow your trail of roses.
Kisses she gives us, and wine,
A friend, proven in death.
Pleasure was given to the worm,
And the cherub stands before God.
Chorus
Do you fall before him, you millions?
Do you sense the Creator, world?
Seek him above the starry canopy,
Above the stars he must live.
Joy is called the strong spring
In the perpetuity of nature.
Joy, joy drives the wheels
In the earth’s great clock.
Flowers, she calls from the buds,
Suns, out of the firmament,
Spheres, she rolls through space
That the seer cannot know
Chorus
Happy, as his suns fly
Through the heavens’ magnificent plan
Run, brothers, your race
Joyful, as a hero to victory.
As truth’s fiery reflection
Smiles at the explorer,
To virtue’s steep hill
She guides the silent sufferers’ path.
On faith’s sunlit summit
One sees her banners in the wind,
Through the cracks of burst coffins
They are seen in the chorus of angels.
Chorus
Endure courageously, you millions!
Endure for the better world!
Over the starry canopy
A good God will reward you!
Gods one cannot repay
Beautiful it is, to be like them.
Grief and poverty, acquaint yourselves
With the joyful ones rejoice.
Anger and revenge be forgotten,
Our deadly enemy be forgiven,
No tears shall he shed
No remorse shall gnaw at him
Chorus
Our debt registers be abolished
Reconcile the entire world!
Brothers, over the starry canopy
God judges, as we judged.
Joy bubbles in the cup,
In the grape’s golden blood
Cannibals drink gentleness
The fearful, courage --
Brothers, fly from your perches,
When the full cup is passed,
Let the foam spray to the heavens
This glass to the good spirit
Chorus
He whom the spirals of stars praise,
He whom the seraphim’s hymn glorifies,
This glass to the good spirit
Above the starry canopy!
Courage firm in great suffering,
Help there, where innocence weeps,
Eternally sworn oaths,
Truth towards friend and foe,
Mens’ pride before kings’ thrones --
Brothers, even if it costs property and blood, --
The crowns to those who earn them,
Defeat to the lying brood!
Chorus
Close the holy circle tighter,
Swear by this golden vine:
Remain true to the vows,
Swear by the judge above the stars!
Escape the tyrants’ chains,
Generosity also to the villain,
Hope upon the deathbeds,
Mercy from the high court!
The dead, too, shall live!
Brothers, drink and chime in,
All sinners shall be forgiven,
And hell shall be no more.
Chorus
A serene departing hour!
Sweet sleep in the shroud!
Brothers—a mild sentence
From the final judge!

'Twas the night before Christmas and all thru the lot,
Not a tour-rat was swinging, not even some pot.
The beers were on ice and getting so cold
In hopes that a concert soon would unfold.
When what did my bleary, dazed eyes perceive,
But a huge stack of amps and four rock star wannabees.
They set up their gear with some fuss and some fumbles;
The speakers and instruments all were a jumble.
When all was in place and the night was so quiet,
They put forth a sound that 'caused a riot.
The kids all awoke to see what was the matter,
And realized their ear-holes just had got phatter.
They stepped outside(of home) to catch a glimpse,
And saw the fading glow of a Toyota Eclipse.
And off in the distance they heard Eric shout,
"On Allshouse and Ryder and Mercier and Murowski,
We've got to keep going and stay on our feet,
Merry Christmas to all and only 215 days 'till Camp Creek."

Wow.......a beer bottle...... anyway, HEY HB... thanks for the DVDs!!! The Priest DVD is killer!!! My youngest (Justin) does a pretty good Rob Halford imitation. The Police DVD is good but the sound and the video are off at the beginning and it messes with you. Still good though. I'm going to check out the JGB one later tonight. Thanks again!!! Merry X-mas everyone....except the lame-o taking shots at Tammy for no apparent reason.

People often say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder,' and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves.

i agree, what each of us perceives as beautiful varies from person to person, but that doesn't make it hurt any less when someone says something like that directly to you. if it was just a general statement maybe that would've been different.

People that bash others usually are the ones that have the shortcomings in life. It's usually out of jealousy that they do it. We should pity those that take their own problems out on other people, especially when they are posting under the name "*". Besides, is that what this forum is for in the 1st place? Mabey * should think about that.

good morning Everyone! pretty harsh that is...who or what is attractive, and who or what is not, is all in the eye of the beholder. i'm surrounded by young beautiful people...i work on a rich liberal arts university...but not all of them are attractive...true beauty is in the smile, the eyes, the intent. many who possess natural beauty, like those who possess money, know not what to do with it.

'Twas the night before a Dead show and all through the place,
All the heads were dosed - just trippin' to space.
The joints were all rolled with precision and care,
With hopes that St. Stephen soon would be there.
The freaks were nestled all stoned in their beds,
While visions of Johanna danced in their heads.
With me in my poncho and her in my hand,
Just dyin to hear "Uncle John's Band."
When out from the stage there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
O' way to the stadium I flew with my stash,
I kicked down the gate - it fell with a crash.
the light from the orb, hanging so high.
Blinded me like I was Born cross Eyed.
And what to my red glossy eyes should appear,
A shadowed figure, could it be Mr. Weir?
No, too big to be Bob, too short to be Phil,
Could it be Mickey, Vince, or maybe even Bill?
He started to sing and the sound from his lips,
Assured me at once that he was Captain Trips!
His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how merry,
I exclaimed in excitement, "Oh Wow! It's Jerry."
I couldn't believe it - just Jerry and Me,
"Play something" I said. "Play Sugaree."
The Fat man jammed - he was on a roll,
With his sweet songs, he rocked my soul.
Jerry spoke once, and his message was plain:
"Gotta go now," he said. "It looks Like Rain."
But I heard him exclaim as he walked out of sight,
"Good Lovin' to all, and I bid You Goodnight."

Happy Holidays! I know there are a couple Pennsylvaniacs that check in here, so I wanted to do a little plug for our friend Kris Kehr... Kris Kehr and Stone Poets have their CD release party tonight for "Notes from the Crossroads" at the Brass Lantern in Reading, PA. Kris on guitar, mandolin, harmonica and vocals, with pedal steel and Hammond...and even some accordion (drums and bass, of course). You've never seen Kris if you haven't seen this lineup (or if you've never seen him). He's been working on the disc for 6 years and he should be proud of the outcome! CD (and other good stuff) available here- http://www.kriskehr.com/ (and CD Baby soon, for download) Have a great New Year!...I'll be at the Living Room in spirit.

the only way you'd get more than two bad choices if they made it illegal for them to privately raise funds, and everyone had a very limited equal budget for running their campaign. until then there will always be the possibility for political favors for "donations"

Hi all, I just wanted to let you all know that Josh and I are throwing a creekhed for president fundraiser seeing as I have as good a chance at becoming president as Ron Paul! RELAX...just kidding! The whole Ron Paul thing is cool I just wish he had a real shot at the job....which he does not. It IS good for democrocy though and eventually we'll have more than 2 bad choices....maybe within a few elections.

sweens, I believe it. re: hannah montana tickets. A guy at work was looking for a few of those and had an extremely tough time, he just couldn't afford what people wanted for them. You figure that market pays a helluva lot more than most others, why not add another show? He was really torn up that he couldn't get the tickets. peace and goodwill!
