But But But But But our entire existence would be pointkless with out the Yankeeee's. Like the earth and sun. Boston is like the earth and NY is the sun which bestows life and purpose to the beanertowner. Ahh like oToMMy said it's foot ball season up thaya. So I imagine you are all working your telephotos tomorrow.

Most Red Sox fans are still the same 1/2 their entire existence revolves around the the Yankees it should be called Red Sox-Yankees Nation, 1/2 their time is spent worrying about, talking about, dissing the Yankees. Congrats to all the real baseball fans/Red Sox fans on your ALE title .. lets hope for another classic Fall.

Seeing Larry McDonald on percussion with Dub is a Weapon at Wormtown was cool,he performs on percussion with Octopoet,Franks' groove group. Also, experiencing Tony Vacca on Sunday morning with his Ferlinghetti homage made me think about Frank as well.I recall when Frank and a bassist alone performed a short set at Vibes in Bridgeport one year.........

The Times usually features "softer" regional-interest stories pretty heavily on Saturdays. I have to admit, it's kind of a kick to see someone I know I the front page.

For a regional section, Frank and baseball are a great focal for a human interest story.Maybe the editor felt that the mood needed some softening today. The underlying theme of being dissappointed by the team you're rooting for fits well with the upcoming election season. But I digress.........happy B-days out to AMS and Puff, and belateds to Meliss and Andy.Carpe Diem indeed.

The setlist: Love Makes You Lose Your Mind - Blood Red Roses - Don't Think Twice, It's All Right, Borrowing Time, Louisiana Sun - Baxter (with Scott Allshouse on lead vocals and guitar, Brett Connors on lead vocals and guitar, and Scott Murawski on drums), After Midnight - I Will Always See Your Face - Emerald Eyes - Don't Do It - You Let Me Down Again. baxter = dogfather, brett conners wonderful dog that passed away a few years ago , he could be seen at most flipper dave shows hanging out onstage , he was also the video wonderdog ,and using his " dogcam" taped a few shows including one memorial day outing at butternut , a god dog who is missed by all

Don't thank the Sox thank the Yankees for having a injury filled year. Current LV Odds on 2007 MLB WS Redsox win 3/1 : Yankees 2/1. Even as a champ still the underdog. Cubs and the Yanks and will go 6 games.

I'll have to see what the day brings. After kid duties are done, I'm hoping treat myself to a visit to my favorite secret spot on the earth... by the lake, where the leaves fall and the spirits rise. Then maybe some music. Perhaps i'll see you then? :-)

KR: My last question might be a scary one for all the "Creek Freaks," out there, but do you ever see yourself not playing with Max Creek and just pursuing all the other projects that we've talked about tonight?............... SM: Um...I don't know...not playing with Max Creek? I mean Max Creek is like that dysfunctional family that you can never get rid of because you were born into it. That's what Max Creek is kind of like for everybody in the band. It's not about being a band; it's about being a family so picturing myself without it – that will never happen. I mean if we stop playing that might be the case but it is what it is. There's no escape, there no getting away from it. It's ingrained and it's family.
thank you max creek

Cross, this isn't going to sound right, but I have "Wood" and I have it in the actual wood packaging. I also have the "b" album......don't like it as much as Wood though. I might have YMSB from camp, I'll have to check. JimmyT and I brought them to Milestones in Rochester a few years back and all of the tapers except one (my taper) were plugged into the soundboard. They did an encore where they walked off stage into the audience and played Pink Floyd's "Mother" and of course this was all acoustic so all the tapers except mine didn't get it recorded.... send me an email with address and I'll shoot you a copy of that and I'll look for the camp sets and send it along too. (take out the -spammy in my address)

rob's page. thanx for that. i googled him last nite to find info on him and wanted to visit his grave. drummers code, nothing beats that, but i guess guitarists have that bond, all musicians do. last time i saw him was just before he left us in danbury at a show with glen nelson. i was walking by the green and saw him out of the blue performing. then i helped him put away his drums and hang out. so random.

for those not busy on oct 12, spend $25, go to uconn/jergenson center to see Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain (his now dead father, Alla Rakha was a master tabla player), Giovanni Hidalgo (master conguero) and some other dude. haha. they're playing a few days later in nyc for $40 so this is much more local.

We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee; We don't take our trips on LSD We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street; We like livin' right, and bein' free..... I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee, A place where even squares can have a ball We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse, And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all.... We don't make a party out of lovin'; We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo; We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy, Like the hippies out in San Francisco do.... And I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee, A place where even squares can have a ball. We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse, And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all.... Leather boots are still in style for manly footwear; Beads and Roman sandals won't be seen. Football's still the roughest thing on campus, And the kids here still respect the college dean.... We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse, In Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA.

=D hey all I am in the Library doing on a report about Taoism it's a wicked cool religion so I am skipping on the SWANKY FACT OF THE DAY!!! and turning it into SWANKY TAOIST INSIGHT FOR TODAY!!!..... Look, and it can't be seen. Listen, and it can't be heard. Reach, and it can't be grasped... you can't know it, but you can be it, at ease in your own life.

Yeah Sweens, the entire floor is GA. If you want to get into the "pit" you'll have to get a wristband and do the whole lottery thing to determine the order in which they let you in. There is a pre-show party at City Steam which is being held by some fans who belong to the web-site backstreets.com. I guess they have reserved a private room, it's free to get in but you'll need to sign up to get into the private room party.I'm meeting up with some old friends from past Bruce tours at the party. I'll e-mail you a link for the sign up thread so you can just click on it. I can't wait for the show. The new album is great and the band sounded awesome last night at the rehersal show in Asbury Park. The new album is also being released on the same day as the Hartford show which is the opening show of the tour. Talk to ya in a bit.

As previously reported, while on vacation last Friday Mike Gordon, Steve Kimock and area resident Bill Kreutzmann played an informal gig on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. The trio, who toured together in 2006 as part of the Rhythm Devils, dipped into both the Grateful Dead songbook (“Cumberland Blues,” “The Other One” and “US Blues") and Gordon’s solo canon (“Car Carrier Blues,” “Weekly Time” and “Foundation”), with Gordon supplying vocals throughout the night. In addition, the ad hoc group ran through an extremely eclectic mix of cover songs, including The Police’s “So Lonely,” Van Morrison’s “Into The Mystic,” Taj Mahal’s “She Caught The Katy,” Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home,” the Bobby Blue Bland’s version of “Goin Down Slow,” Hank Williams’ “Lost Highway,” Prince’s “Alphabet Street,” Los Lobos’ “I Got Loaded,” Toots and the Maytals’ “Pressure Drop,” Townes Van Zandt’s “White Freightliner,” Jim Reeves’ “Lookin' at the World Through a Windshield,” The Meters’ “Just Kissed My Baby” and the Rolling Stones’ “No Expectations,” among others. At present, Gordon and Kreutzmann have no confirmed appearances, while Kimock will play with Banyan at San Francisco’s 12 Galaxies on September 28.

A young couple got married, and in their family, it was tradition that the best man dance with the bride for the first song. Well, this happened...but then they danced for the second song too. And the third. By the time the fourth song came on, the groom ran up and kicked the bride between the legs. A riot broke out, and all the invited guests were hauled off to jail. In court the next week the judge asked the best man what happened. "Your honor, we were just dancing, and the groom ran up and kicked the bride between the legs." "That must have hurt," said the judge. "No kidding," said the best man. "I broke three of my fingers."

there were a few tapers. i'm just not sure if i got the 3rd encore. my battery died just as they finished. . usually my deck saves it before it dies though so hopefully it's good. if not i'll probably try to get the 3rd encore from someone before putting it up.

Well...it just so happened that we had an apple tree with a bunch of apples lying on the ground so they were accessible...and a bit soft. Hard enough to kill a bird with a direct hit, but soft enough not to damage the house. So I suppose a pear would work fine. I believe ripe pears tend to be a bit softer than apples anyways so maybe even better.

HB you can always use the shotgun approach ... get a shotgun, approach the wood pecker, say "look Mr. woodpecker, my wife's tryin to sleep, now this is your last warning. I ain't playin ... I'll use this thing if I have too" Something like that, he'll get the message. If not, blast the little peckerhead, double barrel.

HB...I think I read once if you put up one of those plastic owls it keeps the woodpeckers away. I have a large red and white spotted one that has taken to an old oak tree of mine and the damage done is amazzing. Speaking of amazzzzing what a blast sterling was. The dance was a major highlite for me. Thanks for welcoming Jed into the family. He was def. impressed.

If the woodpecker is actually pecking your house you may have insect damage .. ants most likely if it's that high off the gorund. You may want to call a pro or if you can reach it fill the areas the pecker is pecking with wood clue, maybe even use a carperenter's stapler and cover the wood glue with a couple of patches of heavy-duty screen/small fencing.

they really don't ... and good beer, being a necessity, the rules must be considered to be flexible, am I right?

It's my understanding from patrons past that these folks don't play (and sort of resent) the "Creek only" discount pricing game that many of us trek up there thinking we're entitled to. It's a weekend long event that happens to feature Creek on Saturday night. Doesn't mean you can't try and wheel and deal at the gate but I don't believe that they have any "Saturday night only" reduced price tickets. I could very well be wrong. In fact, I'm sort of banking on being wrong. I'm just glad they're back and would gladly pay big bucks to see them return to my favorite Creek venue of all time.

Hey Derek or Eric...on the Calendar, 10/31 at the Room is listed as a Sunday, when it's actually Wednesday. I'm already hearing confusion from some people who have seen it and aren't sure what's up. Might want to get it changed...

Hands down the greatest experience I ever had at a live concert was in 1994 seeing Stevie Wonder at Radio City Music Hall, the same night Ween played a late show at the Mercury Lounge. The love that exudes from Stevie Wonder was too much to bear. In the middle of the show he broke it down real quiet and performed a solo version of "You and I", one of his greatest ballads. It was so beautiful that I started crying uncontrollably like a little bitch and I looked around and everyone around me was crying. I've never seen anything like it in my life. When the song climaxed the crowd stood and SCREAMED for 5 minutes. People were high fiving and talking about it all thru the next tune.
