I just installed Apple's new "Safari 3.0" web browser (available for PC's as well, and free - http://www.apple.com/safari/ ), and it seems to come with the font x chose for this forum... much better than the default font I was seeing before! :)

I listened to some of the oldest cd's I made from Greg Logan's masters, and was surprised at how good they sounded... I had convinced myself that they were trash, but no, they're more than good enough to upload... so there will be TONS more shows from 1987-88, and also some digital shows from 2001-present.

Sorry to interrupt the baseball talk, but . . . caught a terrific solo show by Danny Barnes in NYC last night. The man is a banjo genius with a serious mad-scientist streak. That's not a very good description, but his music has become very hard to describe as of late. Anyway, he's playing in Boston tonight, at Club Passim. If that's your neck of the woods, I highly recommend it.

Well 100 games to go for the Yankees. I’d say 60 wins will put them right in the middle of the hunt for the wild card, and 65 wins will prolly ensure them of the wild card. The pitching is now straightened out and with wang, pettitte, mussina & Clemens pitching every 5th day, that’s some pretty good pitching. When Hughes gets back in the middle of july that will be 5 quality starters. Will they catch the red sox? It’s possible, they’ve already chopped 5 games off from the loss column when they bottomed out on may 30. if they can pick up a game every 10 games then they’ll catch them. This isn’t the 1st time I’ve seen youkelis light it up in the 1st half of the season – same last year, then he just wasn’t the same ballplayer, same with Lowell last year. Beckett’s 9 – 0, he’s no Guidry and won’t be going 21 – 4, so I look for him to slip a bit, and that japenese set up guy, he’ll slip too, how could he not? On the flip-side, I suspect crisp and jd drew will play better and many has yet to get really hot. Ortiz continues to be great. It will be an interesting next 3 ½ months!

ed, thanx for posting 7/20/88. that show brought back more memories than you could imagine. probably the greatest creek show ever. creek took over downtown prov every wed night up till that point. creek always played to a full house and there was just as many people partying in the lots outside the show who wouldnt make it in. public drinking was ok, open drug use was no problem. it was like a saturday night at camp every fuckin wednesday. it was a real scene. down town prov run over by a 1000 hippies once a week. after that night it was never the same....

Hi, folks! Wilco...sometimes they intrigue me, sometimes they don't quite grab me. That said, I really enjoyed Jeff Tweedy solo acoustic at the Folks Fest last year, more so than Wilco's "crowd pleaser" set at Telluride: However, that is probably more a reflection of where my head is at. That said...the artist whom seems to get a lot of ink that I do not get at all are the White Stripes. To me, it's sheer junk noise with very uneven tempos -- I just don't "get" them! On the flip side, a friend and I enjoyed a very fine, engaging performance by Todd Snider at the Boulder Theater last weekend. Gearing up for Telluride next week...would be sweet to see a Creek gig there...take care, folks!

what do you want to know about Wilco.. they are just a great innovative band that started as an alt-country band after Uncle Tupelo disbanded. Jeff Tweedy went to form Wilco and they have really gone past the alt country into their own wonderful unexplainable sound.. Their guitarist Nels Cline is insane too... brilliant. I love this band.. but alot of people hate em.. go to bt.etree and download a show.. their is a great soundboard from 2002 Ryman up there..

myspace has really bunk security. Awhile ago some computer security website started posting usernames and passwords on the internet because myspace refused to fix problems that let people access a list of usernames + passwords to myspace pages. Rather than myspace fixing the problems they sued the site that reported them lol. Whoever operates the camp creek myspace page should change the password.

and i have no intention of putting any of my max creek stuff on e-bay for sale ever. . . . i went to robs yesterday with mixed feelings , i loved the guy, but i also love max creek " stuff " i have collected over the years all of creeks offical releases, most bought rite from the band at shows when they came out ...ALL of them except one , the only offical release including greg vasso , a cassette called " the children of the world sing christmas " it was a benifet project done in 1991 to benifet the the children of the world foundation, and max creek did a song for it " go tell it on the mountain " mark, scott , john, greg and rob . i had been wanting it for years .....just because i would like to have a complete collection ....well anyone that has been to robs house knows that he colleted alot of STUFF, so with mixed feelings i went and was overwelmed at the " stuff" under the tents in the front yard , i sort of walked around dazed , because i missed the guy and he also had alot of cool shit including MAX CREEK STUFF , tearful at times i made my way onto the back deck , feeling memmorys , good and bad , into the house wich was hard to walk around in , up the stairs into the " art room" again overwelmed , not wanting to tuff any of his STUFF without permision, into the hallway, into his bedroom ( all this stuff) a pile of albums leaning against the wall 5 feet long , a little box witb some "stuff" in it, rite on top in plain veiw a cassettte tape in mint condition with the lable facing me "the children of the world sing christmas" in the middle of all that " stuff" rite on top, like it was left there for me to find.........it was not chessy, there were no vultures , eveyone i saw was respectful, , just stuff that can be overwelming for people to deal with after a death of a friend and , i have been through it before ......later discusing how much i would pay for my little pile of robs STUFF including an inline chime that he may or may not have used on stage that now hangs on my back deck, his his freind says to me about the tape " just take the tape , no charge" .......thanks rob

Thing is though PhunkyZen, when you have the amount of stuff that was in that house, it's alot easier on those who had to deal with selling it to just do an all ot once, price the item when someone is ready to buy it kinda sale as opposed to going through each individual item, price it and then put it up on E-bay. It literally would have taken months if not years to do it any other way. When you walk into a closet and see 150 screw drivers, 700 pencils, 500 of this and 50 of that, you just can't fathom the amount of stuff that was in that house. I do think more money could have been made, it just would have taken far to long.

hindsight is 20/20, but rob's estate should have just ebayed the items that have a high resale value.. that way you didn't have record dealers showing up just to resell the items for probably 10 times what they paid for them.
