oh man.. talk about the 96 Office Party at EM Loews in worcester.. shakedown.. Imagine... Orange Sunshine and the Sharp Dressed Man.. that was a crazy night when at 11, no encore, they turned on teh lights and herded us out like cattle while the dance hall freaks started running in to boogie.. I loved x's tone in 96, i think he was playing thru a marshall i think in 96, maybe that was 95.. with GK head...hmmmm

Eastover.... YES! I've been horseback riding twice there and it was lots of fun. Hoping to shoot some skeet this year, too (sorry, skeets!) Anyone in? Awww... we'll miss you this year Derek. Send us some warm thoughts from your sandy beach. Hopefully you'll be able to turn off your Inner Bouncer for a few days. (haha) Hey Bosco i was contemplating maybe road-tripping for the winter carnival thing at mill st, end of february? Let me know if you're in. I'll even throw in some chocolate covered coffee beans from that great bakery up the street to sweeten the deal... :-)

I'm looking at the calender and realizing that unless they add some shows, my next show will be Eastover. That'll be exactly 3 months w/out a Creek show. That may go down as my longest Creek drought in 19 and a half years. Is there medication to get through that type of withdrawal?

Eastover is one of the best deals you'll ever find for enjoying our kind of crazy weekend with the comforts that are included. I love the community meals and the 'til-dawn basement jams (pace yourself, its worth it!) And the staff is totally hip to us. Heck after some of the swinger weekends they've had up there, we're... but I digress. I'm kinda bummed this'll be the first year I miss since it started.. not too bummed, since I'll be flying to tropical Belize with my darlin' wife. And I'm holding out some hope of making Friday night, weather permitting. Still, I can't recommend it enough if you're thinking about it and have never been. Those who have, you know. It's alllll that.

Ahh, Eastover. The room is booked. What an incredible deal. The whole thing sums up so much of what makes Max Creek so magical. Think about it. Here's this whole community of people from all walks of life, and this band's music plays a special part in all of our lives. And we're all going to gather for a weekend to catch up, break bread together, go for a hike, a swim, maybe a horseback ride, and bask in that special musical glow. And when it's over, and we all go back to our daily grinds, we'll take the time to share the memories here on this forum. I mean, is there anything else quite like it? Yeah, but those 96-97 Shakedowns sucked because they didn't sing any harmony vocals. That Office Party sucked too, because the disco ball came down at 11 PM and the club kicked out the Creek crowd in favor of a dance party.

The Eagles aren't done touring and Don Henley is still waiting to wake up as Levon Helm who he has posters of all over his walls. U can see them this summer, for $200 a ticket, at Evil Empire East, also known as Fenway Park. Bob Seger will be opening, unknown if his good band from the mid-70's will be there, although it is doubtful. You heard it here first.

I agree on the waterfall niceness stiney ~*~ last year it sucked though. They filled the pool the Friday morning before we arrived. It was so cold nobody could really swim. Someone should call them this year and have them fill it a few weeks in advance. Wooohooooo. I freakN love that place!

HB, if you go into the forum archive someone (maybe Eric?) posted the Eastover dates. maybe a week ago? I had a great time at Eastover, the indoor pool kicks butt, loved the heated waterfall... I enjoyed dining with the other freaks, it was great to sit around a table with a roomfull of friends. I was pregnant at the time so I did not take advantage of hoseback riding, and there was no snow, so we didn't do any snowshoeing :)

Hi, folks. Yes, HB, *that* is the band whom should reunite! Then again, I wish Joe Walsh would work on new material with the James Gang. The show I caught at Red Rocks last August was short at 85 minutes, but it was a *wonderful* trip back to 1971 done well. Joe played very well, and Jimmy Fox was a joy to watch on drums.

I saw "The Ego's" on their first reunion tour in the 90's...I paid a steep price to see The Eagles reunite, but almost half the show was solo material from Frey, Henley, and Walsh..I remember Glenn Frey's response to complaints about sky high ticket prices: "Don't buy the Italian sunglasses this month"...CLASSIC!..pretty good musically, but I wouldn't waste my $ seeing them again...especially with The Police and VH touring this summer...now will someone talk some sense into David Byrne for christ's sake??

linda and i were at that show!!! tequila twisted!! asked the door guy before going in if they served beer or alcohol, not sure of the answer but he said there's a liquer store right down the block , and we have sprite and coke. Good point, Bobby T...there was a time I did not want to hear Dead covers by *anyone*, including Creek! However, I eventually warmed up -- remember my lip-synch teleprompter assist on US Blues, x?;-) However, I now appreciate a GD cover when it is given a new, fresh interpretation. Last Saturday at The Rail, I saw up-n-coming bluegrass band Town Mountain play a sweet and creative southern-flavored cover of "Brokedown Palace", led by the rich vocals of Robert Greer. It received among the best applause of the night.

Great time last night! Unexplained Bacon were a lot of fun! The Equlites laid it down! I was very impressed. An awesome Reggae band! Good morning . . . On a non-Creek subject, I watched much of Richard Linklater's excellent film "Waking Life" last night. I'd seen it before, but watching a good chunk of it again made me want to recommend it to Forum folk. If you haven't seen it, rent it next time you're at the video store -- you might really like it . . . On a Creek-ish subject, everyone who can get there should head to Tor's festival in Berkshires tonight! I had the pleasure of seeing Depth Quartet in Northampton last month, and they sounded great. X, Jullee, Vasso & Justin just keep getting better and better. Can't make it there tonight myself, but if you're on the fence, I'm sure it will be well worth the trip . . .

C, a fine reply...you are not the only one that would disagree with me. I just have never, ever gotten the Sex Pistols, and I *did* try them. Still, all the artists and producers I listed have produced bodies of work that should be respected. Genesis will probably get in for their "Overkill" Phil Collins period, but they were a damn fine prog-rock band in every aspect, from vision to songwriting to musicianship. As a matter of fact, I recently purchased a used copy of the remastered The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, and it holds up very well to these ears. As you can tell, I have a beef with the Crock, as I believe there is a significant bias against Prog-Rock. To me, Yes should have been there years ago! ok...Creek content: A cover of King Crimson's "21st Century Schizoid Man" with x on angry vocals would be way cool!

Hi, folks! I lost faith on the CRock & Roll Hall of Wenner for good after the Sex Pistols and Blondie (Blondie??!!) were inducted last year. What do Deep Purple, Yes, King Crimson, Genesis (the Gabriel era), Peter Gabriel, The Guess Who, Rush, producer Glyn Johns, producer Tom Dowd, Peter Tosh and Burning Spear have in common? All have produced bodies of work that both changed and shape music and have been grossly overlooked. Ever notice that Pink Floyd is the *only* progressive rock artist inducted? Until these artists get in, I've stopped supporting the CRock. Creek content: Saturday night's show sure sounds nice.

mechanical types: would frigid weather cause a clutch to act up? I'll just be driving along, and it feels like it pops out of gear, makes some funny noises and then may let me put it back in gear only to repeat... this sucks. I think this board is more of an asset than a liability to the bands fan base. I don't think many people have ever come here and read something in poor taste and then called up friends and said lets not go 2 Creek because they have some fans that are jerky on the web. I think side gigs and projects would be attended better if they were on the dates page or in the bulletin board like some of them used 2 be. As far as attracting new fans I think it is hard 2 touch young audiences without some exposure to them.A lot of them have had zero chance to ever see or hear real quality music. Creek used to play some free shows or just regular shows in and around schools and such. Maybe a return to the Vibes will grow the audience. I don't think treating the loyal fans like we don't care is going to grow the crowd any. I know many folks here have tried hard to introduce a great deal of people to Max Creek. I am sure that we all will with or with out the forum. So do what is felt to be the best thing for the most dangerous band on the planet, I'm sure it will work out. Maybe we can all be a little more gr8ful 4 what we have while we have it

i for one remember that night at harpers ferry, i've never seen DJ that upset ever!!! that was the 2nd most memorable night at harpers, picks you know what i'm talkings about! as for what stretchy said, max creek is more than a band, i don't go as often as i used to, but just the same most of my closest frienships were developed thru attending max creek shows, the band rules, and so do the fans! hey tommy, i scrolled down, are we talking about the same who video? that drowned knocked my socks off!!!

then im at camp sittn with yana by the soundboard & pickle comes over sits down next to her and talks to her during the whole show, she did not like it but was not going to say anything,you can make someone feel out of place & not know it, get a grab on yourself, & you are going to say that never happend or you dont remember...whatever pickle, thats sad that you think what you do is ok no matter what it is.nobody is perfect,we all need to learn to help each other to be better people.Peace!!

I was at the Paradice way before that,Steve the sound guy tryed to blame me for the rec and wires not workn,I told him its the soundBoard wires not me,then a week later a band that was maken a live album there had the same happen to them they were pissed,so the next paradice show I went out back and he look at a news report on the club had bad wire's I told him in front of every one out back about this, then he (Steve) was at Harpers Ferry, angry and stressed out with the house pa that had some problems also,he left a 1/4 inch mono jack for the tapers,and said thats what we get,but he did not say dont hook up now,so it was a miss understanding & he was lookn for a reason to fuck with me becouse I put him in check about the wires at the Paradice that had nothing to do with me,then I see him at wormTown after he was gone & said he was sorry & wanted to be friends.
